Hi all,
I'm an Italian researcher and I'm using this library to simulate our ptp network.
I've installed successfully the packages in Omnet++, but I've some problems with the BMC tests in the pre-configured simulations. I'm running the edison book's examples but all the ports of the devices become always masters... each of them. I don't understand why. Have you experimented the same problem?

Hello lucavvv, Sorry for my late reply. Nice to hear that it is still used  I would be curious, could you share more details about your research? No, the Eidson book examples should work fine. One of those examples was included in my thesis ("4.2.1.1 Experiment 1: Test case 5 of [Eid06]"). I also remember that one of the example (the one with the two grandmasters) behaved differently in my simulation than what is described in the book. It turned out that it was correct, as the book is based on PTPv1 and the simulation is based on PTPv2, and that was one of the details where they are different. Do the port roles work as expected in other simulations? kind regards, Wolfgang Wallner |
