Hello ptp community,
I am currently a student at the University of Technology Ingolstadt, and I am evaluating various simulation frameworks, in particular OMNet++, as part of my final thesis.
OMNet++ is intended to act as a simulation platform for further work on highly reliable, real-time time synchronization.
The IEEE 1588 standard serves as a starting point for further researches.
The existing implementation of the libPTP project provides a helpful and certainly valuable foundation in this regard.
However, our future simulation host will use the current version of OMNet++.
Therefore, I am investigating the current issues of porting libPTP to OMNet v5.6.2 in conjunction with INET v4.2.5 as a dependency.
I hope I can contribute something to this project and look forward to being a new member of the community.
